Wandering Through Paris

Jeremy and I have been in Paris for a week, and have been having an incredible time. I’ve been here many times, but I don’t think I’ve ever loved it as much as I have this time. Everyone knows it’s a magical city, and one of the best things to do is to just walk around and get lost. The last time I was here was 5 years ago, and Airbnb didn’t exist yet. I stayed in cheap hotels in more touristy neighborhoods, and even that was fun. This time, however, I wanted to find an area I’d never been to, and was away from the super popular spots. I decided on an apartment in the République neighborhood, on the border of the 3rd, 10th and 11th arrondissements. I want to do a full recap of our time here (and all the crepes we’ve had), but we’ve been having so much fun, I haven’t found a chance. My parents arrived in Paris on Sunday, and we’ve been spending a lot of time together walking around, and went to a delicious pizza place last night (Al Taglio). Today, we walked around for hours, and I finally brought my camera out. Here are some pictures of our day strolling through the streets and along the Seine.

We’re off to Honfleur in Normandy tomorrow for a week, and I’m hoping to have some time to catch up on the past week!

  1. I can’t wait to hear about all of your Paris fun! Does this mean you had a birthday recently? If so, happy birthday! So glad you’re able to see your parents and spending time wandering around Paris with them sounds exactly perfect 😉

    1. My birthday is actually at the end of July, when we’ll be back in Paris for a month 🙂 I see lots of pastries in my future! I still need to get recommendations from you!

    1. I’m a little embarrassed to admit that after all my travels, I’ve never actually stayed in a hostel… I always paid a bit more to stay in hotels. I’ve also never been to summer camp, I think the whole bunk bed sleeping situation is not for me (I’m a horrible sleeper and I know I’d be up all night!).

      1. Ha, well, the last hostel I was in was in Dublin with a friend (it was coed). We lasted one night before checking out and getting a hotel. Let’s just say our roommates were a bit ‘odd’ and ‘smelly’ and ‘not afraid to do personal things to their bodies when others were in the room’.

  2. Reading your post and seeing these pics make me so “homesick” for Paris. Only I never lived there, haha. I went once, and loved it so much, I’ve always wanted to go back. When you spend 10 days in Europe and have to divide your time between Madrid, San Sebastián, Paris, and Biarritz, there’s not enough time to do everything you want! Enjoy some French onion soup for me! YUM!

    1. That’s a whirlwind trip! I’ve done some of those, and I’m really happy we’ve decided to ‘slow travel’ this time around, to really get to know a place!

  3. You look smoking hott in every picture! All your pictures are amazing and making me daydream. PS – tell your parents I said hello! xo

  4. For some reason I thought I had commented on this but maybe it didn’t go through? It’s been a while since I’ve been to Paris (13 years which makes me feel OLD!), and looking at these photos makes me want to go back so badly! I didn’t get to do everything I wanted the first time I went…and I would love to share it with my husband!
